Parachute Recovery

The classic method for a gentle landing.

  1. Cut a circle (40–60 cm) from light plastic or thin bin liner.
  2. Tape 6 – 8 strings of equal length around the edge and join at a single point above the payload.
  3. Pack the parachute carefully so it deploys after separation.

Testing

Drop tests from stairs or a drone help size the chute. Aim for 1 – 2 m/s descent speed.
